The Existence of Amy by Lana Grace Riva | Book Review

Thank you so much to Lana for sending me a copy of her debut novel, The Existence of Amy, in exchange for an honest review. I read Lana's short self-help book, Happier Thinking, last year. Happier Thinking is almost a pamphlet where it gives you tips and suggestions for changing the way that you think. It was really interesting to then read this book, as our main character Amy implements some of these tips in her daily life!

The Sea Cloak by Nayrouz Qarmout (Translated by Perween Richards) | Book review

The Sea Cloak consists of 11 short stories about the life of women in Palestine today. Each story embodies a different perspective to give "a local perspective on a global story". From stories about sexual abuse, living in a refugee camp, living throughout political unrest and turmoil, to family dynamics and love, this collection is hard hitting but beautiful.

Naturally Tan by Tan France | Book review & talk

'm so excited for today's blog post! We went to the event that was hosted by Penguin Live at Hackney Empire back in June. It was such a fun evening - Tan was chatting to Greg James about the book, life on Queer Eye, and just generally having a good time. I also managed to catch one of the t-shirts he threw out into the crowd. Like really, I think that's the luckiest thing to ever happen to me. I've peaked.
